Mentor/Mentees FAQ

Will mentors help me find volunteering or internship opportunities+

This question is completely up to them, whether they decide to help or not, though they can if they would like to

What is the time commitment like for mentors?+

You're essentially answering questions the mentees may have. Expect about 5–10 minutes of communication per week. If you choose to help them for hours with additional activities, you are more than welcome to do so.

Are mentors expected to help with various activities besides questions?+

No — mentors are only expected to help with medical-related questions regarding school, applications, and opportunities. However, it will be much appreciated if you choose to help them beyond that!

What do mentors help with?+

Mentors provide guidance on pre-med courses, college applications, volunteering, research, and balancing academics with everyday life.

Is there a cost to join as a mentee?+

No — the mentorship program is completely free for all mentees.

How do I get matched with a mentor?+

After signing up, you’ll fill out a short form so we can match you with a mentor who aligns with your interests and goals.
